Aims and Scope
Acta Universitatis Matthiae Belii, series Mathematics (shortly, Acta Univ. M. Belii Ser. Math.), was founded in 1993 and it publishes original research articles and survey papers in selected areas of mathematics and theoretical computer science. Saying in a pragmatic way, we define the areas of interest of the journal as the union of the areas of interest of the members of the Editorial Board. Occasionally, valuable papers dealing with applications of mathematics in other fields could also be published.

At present, the journal does not accept papers in the areas of Fuzzy set theory and Functions of a complex variable for submission (due to lack of editors in these areas) and we refer the authors of such papers to specialized journals.

Acta Universitatis Matthiae Belii, series Mathematics is covered by Mathematical Rewiews and Zentralblatt MATH (the Printed edition).

Online edition  ISSN 1338-7111
Online edition of Acta Universitatis Matthiae Belii series Mathematics has been founded in 2013 to make the publication process more flexible and to shorten it. Every article accepted for publication into Acta UMB Math will appear in the Online edition. The article is published immediately after passing refereeing and publication process. Some of articles can be selected by Editorial Board for publishing in the Printed edition towards the end of the year.

The Online edition is organised into issues, one issue per year. Editorial Office cannot guarantee that the article submitted in a certain year will appear in the same year's issue.

Printed edition  ISSN 1338-712X
Printed edition of Acta Universitatis Matthiae Belii series Mathematics is the continuation of the journal published since 1993 under the same name. Since 2013, the volumes of the Printed edition are planned to be published once a year, usually in November. Each printed volume contains contributions from Online edition selected by Editorial Board. The content of the Printed edition depends exclusively on the decision of the Editorial Board. The aim is to make the content of the Printed edition balanced and to choose the most interesting articles (by editors' opinion) published in the current year in the Online edition.

Special volumes can also be published in the Printed edition; volume of conference proceedings or volumes on occasion of anniversary of a recognised person can be published. The special volume may appear apart from regular publication cycle of Printed edition and its content need not be available in Online edition of Acta UMB Math.

The Editorial Office provides two printed issues of Acta UMB Math to each author of the article published in the Printed edition and 20 reprints of the article to the corresponding author.

Submissions are made electronically to the Editorial Office; please see the Instructions for Authors. The authors are obliged to suggest their preferred Responsible Editor chosen from the Editorial Board.

The contributions in both editions share the same reviewing and publication procedures. Firstly, the submitted article goes to the selected Responsible Editor for an Entry Consideration. This should take at most 14 days. Then the author will be informed by the Executive Editor whether the submitted articled is rejected or selected for the refereeing process. The article selected for the refereeing process will be reviewed by at least one independent reviewer chosen by the Responsible Editor. After the refereeing process (which should usually take from 3 up to 9 months), the corresponding author will be informed by the Responsible Editor about the result of refereeing (usually including referee's report) and about Responsible Editor's decision regarding rejection or publication of the article. Articles that are accepted for publication are then quickly passed to the Editorial Office and to the publication process. The duration of the publication process depends also on author's collaboration with the Executive Editor. More details about submissions, refereeing and the publication process are written here.
